Ahn Na-Young

Kim Ki-Jin
Abstract
This study analyzed the blood lipid profiles, body circumference, skinfold thickness, and abdominal fatness following a waist circumference during aging of adult women. Subjects were divided to 2 groups as obese group (n=101) and non-obese group(n=111) by BM 25. Skinfold thickness and body circumference showed a significant differences between obese group and non-obese group in adult women. Especially, the skinfold thickness of triceps brachii and frontal thigh, and thigh circumference showed a significant higher values in 20 and 30-aged women, and the waist circumference showed a significant higher values in 50-aged women. Blood total cholesterol concentration showed a increase tendency following a aging process in abdominal obese group( ¡Ã80 cm in waist circumference), and blood HDL-C concentration in gluteal-femoral obese group showed a higher values than abdominal obese group( -10 cm in waist circumference).
Aging in adult women could be significantly accumulated the abdominal and visceral adipose tissue, and these processing arised to the increase of metabolic syndrome, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease prevalence. Waist circumference could be recommended a simple indicator for classification of abdominal fatness in this study.
